What Makes a Good Shave?

It is common to see men who have been shaving for years but still don’t know how to get a perfect shave. For this category of men, it is more of trial and error to get a good shave. Understanding the shaving techniques is one great way to have a perfect shave consistently. Here are five things you should consider and practice to give you that perfect shave next time.

Timing is EveryThing
For most men, shaving is done in the morning when they are about to rush out for an appointment. Obviously, this would mean they would have to rush through the shaving. Most of these men will be plagued with skin irritations but may keep blaming it on the razors. Take time out to prep the face and hairs before shaving.

Never Underestimate the Power of a Good Shaving Cream
Wet shaving has become the best way to shave with razors – whether you agree to it or not. One of the most important tools in wet shaving is the shaving cream. A good shaving cream comes with all necessary ingredients and nutrients to help soften your hair. It does far more than just creating lubrication for the razor.

The Wonders of a Badger Shaving Brush
A shaving cream, especially the ones in a jar – can only be effectively applied with the aid of a shaving brush. The badger shaving brush is the best because of the intrinsic characteristics of the badger hair.

Using a Good Razor
The next thing you will need to get is a good DE razor. If all the previous factors are provided and an average razor is used, the shave will not be perfect. A good DE razor doesn’t necessarily have to be expensive. There are affordable razors in the market today like then Vikings Blade.

Difficulties Posed by the Grey Market

Not all manufacturers use distributors but for those that use, grey market has created lots of difficulties for these manufacturers. Product experts at Vikings Blade have highlighted several of such difficulties that they do have had to deal with.

Price Instability is the major difficulty many manufacturers have to first deal with. It affects the pricing with distributors as well as with prices for its direct sales. This is because copycat brands make use of inferior materials and can afford to lower their prices.

It can also mess up the after sales channel for original brands. This makes it very difficult to maintain point of sale services and dealer support. This can drastically affect the income stream of the original company.

It creates dissatisfaction from customers. Imagine a situation where a brand receives complaint about one of their products, only to discover it was marketed by another copycat company in the grey market. This puts the original brand's reputation in jeopardy. Many companies have had to hire PR professionals to help redeem their image in the public's eye. This does not include trying to avoid getting sued by unsatisfied customers.

The Vikings Blade Safety Razor Set To Hit the Asian Market

There are indications that the manufacturers of the Vikings Blade are making plans to take the product officially into the Asian market. The company has in recent times been looking to push the product into the international markets. The Vikings Blade is currently the company's lead product and has enjoyed remarkable success since its launch.

The Asian market is already filled with double edge brands that have very stiff competitions. How well the Vikings Blade can be able to contend cannot be predicted at the moment. The company may probably be using the success the product had in the North American markets to project returns for the Asian market.

The company, in its end of year report, showed that the product has a sales volume of well over 100,000 units in the North American market alone. While industry speculators certainly had their doubts, the company was able to prove it meant business by taking the product internationally. Although no official date for this announcement yet, we are hoping iit would be the main point to address in the company's next stakeholder's meeting.

Copycat Brands Cash In On the Vikings Blade Razor

The greatest threat to any manufacturer of any brand is that other brands would take advantage of its product. The Vikings Blade razor has become a sensation for its customers because of the quality shave it guarantees and offers. As is seen in other industries, there are some brands that are standing on the shoulders of the Vikings Blade manufacturer to make profits for themselves, without duly giving rights to the latter.

These copycat brands include Bigfoot Shave, Smoothere, JTrim, eBetter, etc and have very similar products to the Vikings Blade. What the brands are known for is that they sometimes copy the exact design of the Vikings Blade or they repackage the original design with materials sourced from China. A quick search on amazon will give a better understanding of the similarities between the premium Vikings Blade and these copycat brands.

These copycat brands do not care much for quality because their main focus is in sales. During the manufacturing of the Vikings Blade a quality test is usually conducted to ascertain if they are fit for release to the public. Defective products or those that do not pass this quality tests are discarded. These discarded products sometimes find their way into the Greg markets. It is from this Greg market that these copycat brands get a hold of the product and mass product less quality or inferior products.

Double Edge Razor Blades: The Vikings Blade Story

We live in the era of the double edge razor which has totally replaced the single edge razor. There are several brands in the razor blade industry that have served men for decades. While the double edge razor was invented to reduce cut from shaving, most of the products available still had to battle with this pitfall. The Vikings Blade was designed and manufactured to tackle these challenges.

The product is the brain child of the Julian Vue Company and has, as of today, become one of the top selling products on Amazon. It takes much more than just sheer luck to achieve such status. The Vikings Blade is a true reflection of the mission of the company as it has all the finesse and superiority any double edge razor can ever dream of having.

The Vikings Blade is rugged and has a hefty feel to it. It has got ultra-sharp blades that leave behind clean, smooth shaves without the characteristic aggressiveness. It is a product any man would love to have in his collection. As a matter of fact, reviews have shown that even the ladies are not left out. On the subject of reviews, the product was recently voted the Most Wished For product on amazon. The Vikings Blade story is one that has just begun; but one whose end, mortal men cannot predict!Check out the product on Amazon or Website

Vikings Blade Originals vs Grey Market Products

The Vikings Blade has been featured as one of the top selling double edge razor product on amazon. In other words it is highly rated and a go-to product for many customers. Usually when a product enjoys such sales success, other upcoming brands try to leverage on them. The end result of these is that less superior products are produced or the new companies partners with the main manufacturer.

Knowing most of these copycat companies for what they are, they would rather remain and retain the status of a copycat. While designs of products are solely the right of manufacturers, some products can find its way into the grey markets. The grey markets are a free for all trade where discarded items are bought and refurbished and later rebranded. By law this is illegal and certain laws are fighting to clamp down on the activitiesof these copycat companies. As buyer of the products, you are empowered to fight in this intellectual and property right infringement by refusing to buy such products.

Major copycat companies that use the designs and technology of the Vikings Blade are Smoothere, Bigfoot, JTrim, eBetter, etc. These brands have their products showcased on amazon and try to get customers to buy them instead of the original Vikings Blade. A major feature they use is that they offer theirs at a very cheaper price but at what expense? Products that often make their way into the grey markets are products that do not meet with the manufacturer or industry standards. By repackaging them with cheap materials sourced from China, these companies can afford to sell at a cheaper price.

This is not just some wishing thinking; the company has put all hands on deck with this product to ensure it becomes a reality in the nearest future.

My Daily Ritual with The Vikings Blade Safety Razor by Julian Vue

Getting A Good Shave

There are several things which when done together, gives a good shave. From understanding the wet shave techniques, using premium designed double edge safety razor to the good post-shave techniques. While technology may have advanced, your grandpa wet shaving techniques are still good and true to this day.

Wet Your Beard

To start off on your journey to get a good shave, it's best to wet it. Facial hair is able to absorb about 30% of its volume. What this does to the hair is that it makes it weak. Weak hairs are easy to cut also. You also avoid getting irritation on your skin when you apply the wet technique.

Shaving Cream

Usually people ask what makes a good shaving cream? While there are a few things to note, in summary, a good shaving cream should not foam up but should rather have a creamy lather. Applying shaving cream supplies your skin with not only rich lubricants but also skin nourishing moisturizers.

Quality Razor

The next most important thing is the quality of your blade. Even if you get the first two right, it is the razor that determines how smooth and clean the shave would turn out. A good double edge safety razor like the Viking blade is an ideal choice to use. Made from the most superior materials, this safety razor designed to give a good deep cut. It comes with a microcomb that prevents accidental cuts during shaving. When necessary, change blades to give a fresh new shave.

Rinse Your Face

When you are done shaving, the skin is at its most vulnerable stage. Rinse off the left over shaving cream with warm water and some antiseptic. Finish the rinsing with room temperature water and dry up your face.

After Shave Lotion

An after shave lotion helps to moisturize and soothe the skin. About two layers of skin are removed during shaving and this leaves your skin really dry. By applying an after shave, you reintroduce moisture to your face.

Vikings blade Review

I switched over to shaving with a DE razor a few years ago and have never looked back. This is the 3rd DE razor I've owned since then (my first was an Edwin Jagger which I loved but lost on a business trip, and my second was some Handlebar brand razor that I haven't been too happy with). I ordered this razor based on the reviews and the product description and it not only came exactly as described but has exceeded my expectations. I even like it better than the Edwin Jagger razor I had.

Other reviewers have pointed out a lot of the advantages of this razor's design and I would second those advantages. I love the ease with which one can replace the blade, as well as the fact that the ends of the blade aren't exposed so you don't have to worry about nicking your nostrils. But most importantly, for reasons I don't fully fathom, it just gives me a great shave, and in less time and with fewer nicks than any other razor I've used. I'm completely sold and already have gifted one to a friend.

In terms of cons, there aren't any. Some people might have different design preferences... The razor seems sturdily constructed and the finish seems to be of good quality, although it may be a tiny bit on the shiny side. The handle isn't solid metal due to the opening/closing mechanism and so it's not a very heavy razor, which is totally fine, but the Edwin Jagger I used to have had a heft to it that some people might like.

Otherwise, the opening/closing mechanism seems a bit more elaborate than the typical razor where you unscrew the head, and it remains to be seen how well it holds up to use over the months and years ahead. I noticed a couple tiny crossbars on the underside of the head that seem to serve to stop the opening mechanism and hold the head in place, and one of them seems like it could possibly slip out at some point. But then again it might never slip out. And even if it does slip out after a few years, given the price, it would be well worth having to buy another. I could lose this or damage it before then, anyhow.

In summary, I love the razor and would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone.
