Vikings Blade Review

My granddaughter got me the Vikings Blade for my last birthday. She knows I have a think for shaving but has been preaching the safety blade sermon for a very long time. I've always loved my cartridge razor (I still do) but I have to admit the safety razor is just out of this world. Using it for the first time, I could tell the difference because it left my skin smoother than the cartridge razor. I was a bit nervous because of the sharpness of the blade but I didn't get cut; yet to get cut.

I love the fact that it is a single blade. Thinking back on how much I've spent on cartridge razor blades since I started shaving just leaves me nauseous. The product is beautiful to look at with its chrome-like appearance. I like the fact that it is heavy as I was thinking these new generation tools are always lightweight. To the makers of the Vikings Blade, I would say they did a nice job. Thanks for leaving me with an amazing safety razor shaving experience.

Handling Patchy Beards

Keeping beards has become a new fashion sense for men. Unarguably men have worn beards but this time it seems to become a fashion trend. VikingsBlade is not all about cutting hairs but bringing out the manliness in every man. So today we are going to help men with patchy beards grow them and keep them neat.

Let It Grow

Ok this may not seem like a special tip but it's still a tip nonetheless. Instead of cutting the beards prematurely all the time, leave it to grow out. This doesn't mean you shouldn't trim the edge when due but just let the hair density thicken out for a while.

Brush It Up

The secret to having a good beard is to know how well to groom it. Since your journey is just beginning, you should get acquainted with the act of brushing your beards. Get a good brush with goof bristles. When brushed probably, it gives your beard a full appearance. Hair has got its characteristic length and should, over time, be able to stretch out to partially cover the beard patches.

Buy a Grooming Tool

A good grooming tool is able to support these sparse hairs on your face. There are facial grooming tools in the market for you to use.

Prevent Acne with Safety Razor

Acne is one of the major skin related problems we all face. More men seem to have this acne problem more frequently than others. While it is caused by several factors, the one we focus on right now is shaving. Yes that's right, shaving! Many men don't realize that the way a shave is done and the type of razor used contribute immensely to the outbreak of acne. To get a better understanding of this, it's good to understand the nature of the skin.

Men have a different skin type from females. The pores on the skin of men are bigger than that in females. Acne is caused when too much dirt and oils build up in these pores. Too much shaving with standard razors like cartridges can actually trigger an acne outbreak. This is because cartridge razors use up to 5 blades going over your skin at the same time. This causes excess oils and dirt to be forced down the skin pores. A good safety razor like Vikings Blade has just one sharp blade at a time that cuts through the stubble with necessarily pushing the oils into the pores.

Is Having Sensitive Skin for Shaving a Myth?

No! Before we start with any explanation, it is important we get that out there. Sensitive skin really does exist and is a common skin issue many dermatologists are aware of and mostly treat. The same can be applied to shaving or the use of shaving products. There are quite a number of reasons to have sensitive skin. Most people tend to push the blame to the razor (although this could be a possibility) but really it is because the person has sensitive skin.

Sensitive skin can be as a result of an allergy or an irritant dermatitis. Just like any allergy, skin allergies that can make the skin sensitive are usually caused by shaving products. The most common cause of having sensitive skin is from bad shaving habits. Most men refuse to admit that they do not know how to shave properly. Shaving is much more than placing a sharp razor on your skin and cutting off all the stubble in its path. Even advanced safetyrazors like the Vikings Blade still need to be used properly to achieve better results. The last cause of having a sensitive skin is more towards genetics. A skin disease like eczema can sometimes be inherited and this predisposes your skin to being sensible. Use safety razor products with mild to moderate aggressive and consult your dermatologist as soon as possible if you are having adverse skin reactions.

Map Your Way to Success with a Clean Shave

There has been this ongoing debate on whether keeping beards or having a clean shave is ideal for success. As funny as this may sound, it is often a heated argument among some men. While more and more men are moving towards the new trend of keeping beards, a resonating question being asked is; are employers hiring them? If success is to be judge in the aspect of employer-employee relationship then maybe, just maybe a point could be proven.

Even with the rise in beard wearing men, employers still find men with clean shaves more appealing. This necessarily doesn't mean beards are synonymous with being unkempt but it's obvious these employers are already boxed in with such mentality. For professional jobs, first impression speaks volumes and a man walking into an interview with a full grown, well-trimmed beard may just not fit right in with the interviewer. Just think of a professional job and you'll see that clean shaves are usually the accepted norm.

When the Vikings Blade organized its Manliest Shave of 2015 competition last year, it showed a cross section of individuals worldwide. A closer look shows that professional employees wear more of clean shaves than entrepreneurs. So when next you're going for an interview, you may want to reduce the beard just to a generally accepted level. After you get the job, you alone can decide if a beard would be needed in your workplace.

Vikings Blade Safety Razor Review

I have just one word to describe the Vikings Blade; exceptional! I kept on looking at the razor for quite a while and wondering what's make it so different from the rest. The product certain brings back the manliness in every man. From the shiny chrome plated finish to the ultra-sharp blades, the product is simply amazing. Just when I thought I was the only one in love with the product, my wife has been using my razor for some time now without my knowledge. She's madly in love with it too.

It gives smooth shaves, like really smooth shaves! It comes with a classic handle and fits right well with my hand. The extra 5 blades are nothing short of a blessing. I've been hearing so much of double edge razors but decided to stick with my cartridge razors all this while. I'm just so glad I started with the Vikings Blade. For anyone in doubt about this product, take my word for it and go try it out. It's not even expensive so you won't be wasting money even if you don't like it - I so much doubt that!

My Review of the Vikings Blade

I got the product some few weeks ago and I feel it would be great injustice not to add my reviews to the others. The review is based on my personal experience with the product. So here it is:

Design

I totally love it! It comes with a chrome plating coating which gives it this shining metallic appearance. It has a large butterfly head that makes it easy to change blades.

Size

The product is a heavyweight razor at a weight of 85g. It comes with a classic handle at a length of 3.75".

Aggressiveness

The product comes with a moderate aggressive shaving power. Since I have been using it, I haven't experienced any cuts while shaving. The razor gives very smooth and even shaves. I do not have to run the razor through an area severally before getting a good shave.

While all those can serve as my Pros for the product, I do have two cons I observed personally.

Handle Length

I have read that the handle is right and perfect but having used the product, I can't totally agree. I have big hands and this makes it a bit stressful using the product from a long time. My wrist tires out on time. Maybe I'll eventually get used to it or maybe not.

Extra Blades

While I am appreciative of the fact that the product comes with extra blades, it would have been nice if the blades were really very sharp. Apart from the blades, the razor itself has got no problem. Anyways if you don't like the blades, then you can easily go out and buy new ones - they're very cheap.

The Vikings Blade Safety Razor Set To Hit the Asian Market

There are indications that the manufacturers of the Vikings Blade are making plans to take the product officially into the Asian market. The company has in recent times been looking to push the product into the international markets. The Vikings Blade is currently the company's lead product and has enjoyed remarkable success since its launch.

The Asian market is already filled with double edge brands that have very stiff competitions. How well the Vikings Blade can be able to contend cannot be predicted at the moment. The company may probably be using the success the product had in the North American markets to project returns for the Asian market.

The company, in its end of year report, showed that the product has a sales volume of well over 100,000 units in the North American market alone. While industry speculators certainly had their doubts, the company was able to prove it meant business by taking the product internationally. Although no official date for this announcement yet, we are hoping iit would be the main point to address in the company's next stakeholder's meeting.

The Vikings Blade vs Lord L6

This is yet another comparison between two less expensive double edge razors. Both products have enjoyed lots of positive reviews and ratings by customers on Amazon.

Design

The Vikings Blade is produced in Australia with high quality materials from Germany and Sweden. The product is chrome plated and has a very attractive look to it. It is a short handled razor and is quite hefty because of its heavyweight of about 85g.

The Lord L6 is produced in Egypt and is one of the top less expensive double edge razors. The product comes with a chrome plated head and an aluminum handle. Undoubtedly, it is a beauty to behold. It is a long handle double edge razor at 4.33" and has a weight of about 48g. This makes it fall under the lightweight category.

Accessories

The Vikings Blade comes along with 5 extra blades for a remarkable shaving experience. The product also comes with a travel case to keep users on the go. Just for that additional comfort and satisfaction, the travel case has a mirror attached. The Lord L6 doesn't seem to come with any other accessories besides the razor itself. All other additional accessories need to be bought with it.

Unique Feature

TheVikings Blade has the new advanced butterfly head that allows for quick and easy blade change. The product also has a micro-comb attached to the head that helps eliminate cuts while shaving. The Lord L6 is a 3 piece model double edge razor. This means the head has to be unscrewed for the blades to be changed.

"Futur" Safety Razor By Merkur - Imbalanced, uneven blade gaps, slippery...

After seven months with this razor I wanted to report back to the community what's going on with this unit.
PROS:
-Beautiful
-Adjustable blade to allow for either closeness or higher blade tension to cut course beards

CONS:
- The spring or tension device puts inconsistent pressure on the blade causing the razor blade to warp and leave gaps. Gaps equals nicks, cuts, and uneven trims. This is the single major flaw that is completely killing it for me and why I am replacing it.
- the satin finish is VERY slippery when wet. I still don't feel confident handling it after 7 months.
- Feels unbalanced. I cannot seem to get a comfortable angle to allow a good shave
- blade replacement feels mildly dangerous due to head design. You have to pop the top with your thumb and it typically causes the blade to eject since it's sprung from tension.

I REEEEALLLLY wanted to love this razor but it has some major flaws. I could live with the "cons" above except for the fact that it doesn't adjust the blade as intended...and this is the whole selling point of the product! Please be mindful of the really high scores given to this product and you'll see that these are early life scores versus those that owned the product a while. Many are reporting the finish is wearing off and some had ER visits after cutting themselves with the somewhat poor head design.

Merkur needs to redesign this product and then I think they would have a homerun. But for now, I would firmly talk everyone out of this product until issues are solved.

The Viking Blade

I came across the Vikings Blade razor for the first time when I was looking to buy razor blades for my Edwin Jagger. Usually I don't stop to check for extra products or related products but the ratings on it caught my attention. It was when a friend of mine was talking about it; I took an interest in the product. I have to admit that the Vikings Blade is one of a kind. The blade is super sharp but isn't as aggressive as my Edwin Jagger. After several weeks of using the product, I have no phobia of cuts or bumps.

I like the weight as it feels hefty and allows me to control every stroke of the razor. I also like the fact that it is a short handle razor. I feel this creates a good grip for me to hold the razor. The extra 5 blades are just additional blessings for me, considering the amount I saved because of it. In case you are still in doubt, the razor sells below $100. This is the part that gets to me every time I think about it! If a double edge razor can sell this low, why would anyone still bother about buying those expensive razors? Anyways, I highly recommend the product to anyone out there looking for a good double edge razor.

Micro Touch Safety Razor Chrome - This Is a Scraper, Not a Shaver!!!

After watching a TV commercial exposing the merits of the old fashion double edge razor as I had grown up shaving with, I decided to shun the expensive Gillette Mach razors and go back to the basics.

Now I know it has been 45 years since I had used a DE razor so I had to reeducate myself in my shaving techniques such as softening the bearded area by using soap and hot water. Also shaving lightly with the grain letting the weight of the razor to glide down and capture all the bearded areas. Also a light second shaving lightly against the grain was needed for a close shave.

However due to the cheapness of this product several problems emerged to prevent a close, clean and bloodless shave.
1. This razor is not an exact precision instrument. It is not built on a slight angle to capture the beard without scraping. Angled at 45 degrees it is a scrapper and with this razor being so light the blade drags against the skin and will cause nicks and cuts. It is a bleeding razor.
2. The razor after being used for about a month became hard to open and in fact I had to use pliers to open the butterfly blade opening. Very cheaply made.
3. I gave this razor a good 2 months trial, but between the razor scraping and burns along with the use of a styptic pencil I could no longer stand the pain. The shave was not that close! Very disappointing.

Not easily giving up, I pursued my quest for a perfect shave and found it in purchasing the Viking Blade Safety Razor which is quality built with a good weight and has a slight 30 degree angle and feels like a feather crossing your face and gives the closest shave that I have ever experienced. For a few dollars more with German precision. you can have that perfect shave also.

Micro Touch One is just a cheap imitation of a classic DE razor.

WEISHI Long Handle Version Butterfly Open Double Edge Safety Razor Review

I purchased this razor because of cost and extra length of the handle. (My previous DE has a short handle) The metal finish is very well. The color is nice. The right blade and shaving soap go a along way when shaving as a lot of you can attest. For instance I found the combination of Wilkerson Classic blades and Van Der Hagen soap works very well with this razor. Personna blades and Captain Conk glycerin base soaps with this razor leave me nicked up in my humble opinion.

I suppose I can get use to the longer handle but 3 times now I have found the butterfly head mechanism working loose on its own during use thus causing the blade to flop around for a bad shave and of course nicks. (My other razors do not do this) So far I can control this by making sure I tighten the knob on the bottom of the handle with dry hands and a dry cloth to ensure a good grip on the razor blade. Not enough purchase of the handle to do this when your hands are wet, perhaps for instance when your hands are wet from the SHAVING PROCESS.

I would say the Weishi 9306CL long handle razor is worth the money paid for it but be weary of the butterfly mech working loose.

Vikings Blade Safety Razor Review

If you have ever used a normal TTO (Twist to Open) in the past and got your hands on a Vikings Blade, you would know the true meaning of simplicity. The Vikings Blade is all there is to a great double edge razor. I have read many reviews but still haven't been able to get a good con for the product. This is just my first month with the product and I promise to update as soon as I observe the first con.

To me I think the design is elaborate and beautiful enough. The chrome plating makes it feel like you are holding a sword; a very short sword. The butterfly head is also included which makes it easy to change blades. I fell in love with the butterfly head when I first saw it in a previous brand I used. I think it's a great evolution in the razor industry.

The product is hefty and has just the right handle length for a good grip. The blades fit properly in the head and allows for a close shave. I have not had any cuts or bruises since I started using the product. The inclusion of 5 unbranded blades makes a good alternative to buying blades almost immediately.

Copycat Brands Cash In On the Vikings Blade Razor

The greatest threat to any manufacturer of any brand is that other brands would take advantage of its product. The Vikings Blade razor has become a sensation for its customers because of the quality shave it guarantees and offers. As is seen in other industries, there are some brands that are standing on the shoulders of the Vikings Blade manufacturer to make profits for themselves, without duly giving rights to the latter.

These copycat brands include Bigfoot Shave, Smoothere, JTrim, eBetter, etc and have very similar products to the Vikings Blade. What the brands are known for is that they sometimes copy the exact design of the Vikings Blade or they repackage the original design with materials sourced from China. A quick search on amazon will give a better understanding of the similarities between the premium Vikings Blade and these copycat brands.

These copycat brands do not care much for quality because their main focus is in sales. During the manufacturing of the Vikings Blade a quality test is usually conducted to ascertain if they are fit for release to the public. Defective products or those that do not pass this quality tests are discarded. These discarded products sometimes find their way into the Greg markets. It is from this Greg market that these copycat brands get a hold of the product and mass product less quality or inferior products.

The Vikings Blade is A Better Improvement for Me

I have used several other double edge brands in the pasts. Mostly because I have a sensitive skin and usually have bumps on my face after shaving. Before buying the Vikings Blade by Julian Vue, the longest I have ever used a product was for about 4 months. Surprisingly I had no problem with that product until I decided to purchase extra blades when the one it came with got exhausted.

It's been 8 months 2 weeks since I started using the Vikings Blade. I don't think I have had any issue with it other than getting use to its handle size. I got really big hands and my previous razor was long handled. Adjusting took me some weeks. While I had the best of shaves, I needed to take breaks so my hand will rest a bit. Right now I can say that I and the Vikings Blade is a match made in heaven.

This is by far the best double edge razor I have ever used since I started needing it. Shave is close and smooth. The razor is generally heavy weight and allows for a firm grip. The butterfly head allows me change blades quickly even during shaves. Simply put, you have to experience the Vikings Blade for you to truly understand what any of these reviews are talking about.

Merkur Long Handled Safety Razor Review

This was my first time using a safety razor. I was not impressed. The quality of the product is really good. My problem with it is the shave quality I get. I bought a variety package of blades including Feather. Some of the blades were DEFINITELY sharper and better than the others..and (btw) the Feather was at the top of the list.HOWEVER, in order to get a close shave I had to go over and over and over some areas of my face..I am 51 I know how to shave..This was just disappointing.

I really think that all the Hype and BS that I read and reviewed ad-nausea..affected my better judgement on this purchase. In conclusion. If you are an adult and not scared shitless that you might nick yourself. Buy a safety razor with a more aggressive or maybe an adjustable head..I literally shaved my man privates (as I have done for many years) with this thing with no problem..EXCEPT..it still shaved no better than a Mach 3..In fact I like the Mach 3 MUCH better for that particular area. I REALLY do think that an aggressive razor will probably work VERY well... I sincerely hope that this is a helpful review.

The Vikings Blade Reaches Out to Charities

There are quite a lot of companies involved in one charitable project or the other. It is one of the numerous ways of giving back to the society. In today's world, there are quite a lot of things to help out with and company behind the Vikings Blade product has decided to reach out a helping hand.

Sometime ago, the company published its sales volume report of the success of the Vikings Blade in the international market. News on the street has it that the company owners have decided to give out a percentage of that profit to help promote some charities. While details of the exact charities that the donations would be made to have not yet been released, it is speculated it could be either health or environmental charities or a combination of both.

With sales volume of 100,000 units sold in the North American markets alone, the Vikings Blade is the top selling product of the company. With this move to supporting charities, the company may be looking to starting off its own charity in the nearest future.

I Had My Doubts with the Vikings Blade

Right from the first time I started shaving, I have had one skin reaction or an annoying cut after another. I have switched razor so many times too numerous to count. So whenever I see reviews of some top brands, I often wonder if I am the unlucky one. The Vikings Blade to me was just another double razor trying to promote its brand.

While I saw excellent reviews, I pushed them off as paid reviews especially because I don't believe any product could be that perfect. I purchased the product and didn't start using it for about 3 days after it arrived. My very first impression was that it was heavyweight. This gave me some level of confidence in the strength. I do have large and big hands so I it took me a while to get use to the short handle, especially because my last shaving stick was a long handle. Using the Vikings Blade was just simply amazing. The butterfly head allows for very close shaving also. Generally, I am impressed with the product.

Vikings Blade vs Merkur 34C

The Merkur 34C is an upgrade from the previous products. Matching it side by side with the Vikings Blade by Julian Vue the latter still compares favorably to it. The Vikings Blade has enjoyed tremendous reviews in recent times to this effect.

Design

Materials used in the construction of the Vikings Blade are all premium quality Swedish materials. This makes the product super strong and durable. The razor is quite hefty at a weight of 85g but not a long handled razor like some others. It comes at a length of 3.75" which puts it at an average length.

The Merkur 34C is a beautifully designed razor made and finished with chrome materials. It is a heavy duty razor with great shaving power. It comes with a length of about 3" and is shorter than the Vikings Blade but with an extra thick handle.

Accessories

The Vikings Blade comes with a travel case which has a mirror imbedded in it and also 5 super sharp unbranded blades. These unbranded blades are coated with platinum; this makes them super strong and durable. The Merkur 34C doesn't come with accessories and would have to be purchased separately.

Awards

The Vikings Blade was recently voted as the Most Wished For product on amazon and also has been rated as one of the Top 3 bestselling product on the same site.

The Merkur 34C too has had its fair share of fame as it was voted World's Best Razor in both 2011 and 2013 by About.com Reader's Choice Award.

Double Edge Razor Blades: The Vikings Blade Story

We live in the era of the double edge razor which has totally replaced the single edge razor. There are several brands in the razor blade industry that have served men for decades. While the double edge razor was invented to reduce cut from shaving, most of the products available still had to battle with this pitfall. The Vikings Blade was designed and manufactured to tackle these challenges.

The product is the brain child of the Julian Vue Company and has, as of today, become one of the top selling products on Amazon. It takes much more than just sheer luck to achieve such status. The Vikings Blade is a true reflection of the mission of the company as it has all the finesse and superiority any double edge razor can ever dream of having.

The Vikings Blade is rugged and has a hefty feel to it. It has got ultra-sharp blades that leave behind clean, smooth shaves without the characteristic aggressiveness. It is a product any man would love to have in his collection. As a matter of fact, reviews have shown that even the ladies are not left out. On the subject of reviews, the product was recently voted the Most Wished For product on amazon. The Vikings Blade story is one that has just begun; but one whose end, mortal men cannot predict!Check out the product on Amazon or Website

Vikings Blade Originals vs Grey Market Products

The Vikings Blade has been featured as one of the top selling double edge razor product on amazon. In other words it is highly rated and a go-to product for many customers. Usually when a product enjoys such sales success, other upcoming brands try to leverage on them. The end result of these is that less superior products are produced or the new companies partners with the main manufacturer.

Knowing most of these copycat companies for what they are, they would rather remain and retain the status of a copycat. While designs of products are solely the right of manufacturers, some products can find its way into the grey markets. The grey markets are a free for all trade where discarded items are bought and refurbished and later rebranded. By law this is illegal and certain laws are fighting to clamp down on the activitiesof these copycat companies. As buyer of the products, you are empowered to fight in this intellectual and property right infringement by refusing to buy such products.

Major copycat companies that use the designs and technology of the Vikings Blade are Smoothere, Bigfoot, JTrim, eBetter, etc. These brands have their products showcased on amazon and try to get customers to buy them instead of the original Vikings Blade. A major feature they use is that they offer theirs at a very cheaper price but at what expense? Products that often make their way into the grey markets are products that do not meet with the manufacturer or industry standards. By repackaging them with cheap materials sourced from China, these companies can afford to sell at a cheaper price.

The Vikings Blade Set To Become a Worldwide Product

The double edge razor industry is one of the most important industries for today’s men. For several decades, certain top brands like the Gillette and Merkur have enjoyed successes in sales. The Vikings Blade by Julian Vue is set to walk on this same journey with these giants and hope to prevail. This is not just some wishing thinking; the company has put all hands on deck with this product to ensure it becomes a reality in the nearest future.

From the company’s financial report of 2015 which was published few months ago, the company not only recorded success in sales but showed it has carve a niche for itself in other international markets. With reports showing sales volume of over 100,000 in North America alone, the Vikings Blade has become the company’s top selling product. With its ability to capture a major international market like that of North America, the company is repositioning itself to become a global brand. The truth is that most of these recognizable brands in major market are yet to explore the possibility of becoming a worldwide brand.

While this may seem like an over ambitious move by the company, the Vikings Blade has actually had tremendous reviews and ratings from customers. This year’s projection in terms of sales is expected to not only surpass that of last year but to also carve a niche for itself in other major markets.

You can check out the product on Amazon and Julian Vue Website
